Appennino is full of artistic and traditional handicraft, a way to visit place and to spend some money. The most important products of Appennino handicraft are the following:

Ceramics:
In Romagna lands ceramic has ancient roots.
Visiting Romagna you can find a lot of handicraft shops as in Tredozio, Modigliana, Portico, S.Benedetto, Sarsina, Gambettola, Cesena and Forlì and in many other places.

Leathers:
Working of leathers to realize bags, clothing articles, shoos, waistbands. Typical places are in San Mauro Pascoli, in Gambettola, Cesena and San Piero in Bagno.

Wrought iron:
Only the high handicraft ability can transform the red-hot iron in wrought iron crating objects like gates, widows gates, furnishing objects, and the old classic symbol of Romagna, the "caveja". These ancient handicraft working can be found today in many resorts of Romagna like in Modigliana, Sarsina, Mercato Saraceno.

Furnishings and sculptures:
Many are the mistress of wood working following an ancient style: for example mirrors, glass cupboard and furnishing complements.
According to this type of work also the restoration take place, like a real " wood culture". You can find workshop all over Romagna but especially in Galeata, Savigano, Premicuore, Sarsina.

Natural stones:
In Rocca S. Casciano, where were located the ancient Medicee prisons, a workshop trough ability and fantasy works stones like jade, malachite, lapis lazuli, cornel crating decorative objects.

Pietra Serena:
Characteristic stone of Appennino, is worked trough the stone-cutter to realize for example building flooring, gate walls, jambs, fireplaces.
This tradition is today proposed in Galeata, Bidente Valley, in Portico di Romagna, Montone valley, and especially in the high Savio valley with a large range of furnishing objects.

Teglie/baking-tin:
The "piadina" is always good especially if it is cooked in "Teglia". The best Teglie are the ones that come from Montefitti, near Sogliano al Rubicone. Here an ancient workshop produces teglie since many centuries: a cooked mixture of red and black earths.

Hand printed fabrics:
These few lines are not enough to describe the beautiful of the printed fabrics in the typical "rural art" of Romagna in the 1700 century.
At that time as today the same work process to realize coverlet, tablecloth, carpets, curtains, tapestries.. with beautiful colours as "rust", blue, ancient red, green, and with beautiful decoration that symbolized the old country. If you will enter in one of these workshop you will smell a vinegar smell utilized to prepare the colour.
Each workshop has its stamps, its secrets of production. Few gifts are loved as a little or big "parure" of hand printed fabrics.
