PREDAPPIO

Predappio presents it self with two different architectonical conceptions.
Predappio Alta rises on the top of " masso pudinga", local stone really utilized in this area , and it boasts very ancient origins.

To realize his projects Mussolini chose the most famous Italian architects, as per Forlì and other towns, establishing a new architectonical conception, the fascist one, which was a way to propagandise his party ideas.
On the main square rise the S. Antonio da Padova Church, built in 1932-34 by Cesare Bazzani architect.
To visit is also the Church of Sant'Agostino in Rocca built in Romanic style with in its inner a only nave and some damaged and precious frescos showing some religious scenes probably realized in Middle Age.
Every Autumn in Predappio are proposed the ancient traditional methods to produces wine: in the main square grapes are treaded by people in big vats and all around take part a popular festival with gastronomic stands and wine tastes of the previous year.
