A typical tourist place is Caset del Rio a little country rich of historical attractive.
The first residential complex was composed by longobard families.
Later Castel del Rio was subjected by the Alidosi family that given to this little country richness and prestige.
Thanks to tha Alidosi family was built "Ponte Alidosi", famous for its special building.
Castel del Rio is also famous, not only in Italy but in all Europe, for its chestnut "marrone di Castel del rio" with its registered trade mark.
      Chestnut is a typical tree of Appennino, (its life can be more longer than 400 years!) that gives a fruit with a smell and a taste very good.
Every second Sunday of October you can take part of the village festival called " del marrone" in which you can taste this famous chestnt.
