In the "Codice Bravo" belonged to Ravenna Church and dated 1700 A.C., we find notices about one of its property called "Fundum Roncofrigo". Afterwards the castle became property of Malatesta family with other castles speared in the territory since the Napoleonic period. Later it was submitted by Papal State until the Italian Unity.
Today the main activity of Roncofreddo is agriculture: vegetables, fruit, and quality wine are producted and selected with new techniques exalting freshness and genuineness.
Roncofreddo, located in a suggestive natural place with sweet hills and picturesque panoramic views , offer to the tourist many places to visit.
The whole resort develops its self around the ruin of the fortress called "Il Castellaccio", the Civic Tower and the Entering Door, creating a really characteristic semicircle resort disposition.
San Biagio Church , built during 1700 is dedicated to the town patron. In its inner are preserved two interesting frescos by Antonio Cimatori, called Il Visacci, during the period of the Counter-Reformation.
Around Roncofreddo you can visit seven castles, besides Rocca del Castellaccio, Sorrivoli and Monteleone.
      Sorrivoli castle has its construction still undamaged, and here every year take part the "Puppets festival", with laboratories, puppet shows by many Italian but also foreign companies.
An other sight has to be due to the little village Santa Paola. The name of Santa Paola come from the holy Paola who here was born about the VI century and in the parish church are preserved her remains and some frescos that testimony her admirable life.
